How to Make a Tasty Vegan Pizza (3 Recipes)

I DO love pizza, so I understand people's concern when they think about going vegan; most people couldn't fathom the idea of never eating pizza again. Well, you're in luck, because you don't have to fathom that!

Once I became a vegan, it forced me to add some flava-flavs to my pizzas and get a little adventurous. I used to always get the same thing - ham and pineapple pizza. Now, my pizzas look like something you'd expect to come out of the Garden of Eden. I LOVE veggie pizzas now!

When it comes to vegan pizza, there's so much more flavor to work with and so much more endless possibilities of amazing pizzas that I never even knew existed.

Garden of Eden Pizza

Prep Time: 30 Minutes - Cook Time: 15 Minutes - Total Time: 45 Minutes

Servings: 4 Personal Sized Pizzas

What You'll Need

  • Pizza dough - I used a vegan Tandoori Naan from Trader Joe's and it was AMAZING.

  • VEGGIES: Cauliflower, Broccoli, Red Bell Pepper, Spinach, Mushrooms, Kalamata Olives

  • 1 Tsp Nutritional Yeast

  • 6oz can of tomato paste

  • 1 Cup of purified water

  • 2 tbsp EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)

  • 2 Garlic cloves

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Pepper

  • 1 tsp Oregano (dried)

  • 1 tsp Basil (dried and fresh)

  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (Skip this if you don't want it to have a little kick)

Step 1: Roast the Cauliflower & Broccoli

Rinse the cauliflower and broccoli and separate into small bite size pieces.

Place on a baking sheet and drizzle with EVOO, salt and pepper. Mix around with your hands, making sure to evenly distribute the evoo and s&p mixture.

Bake for 15 minutes on 400 F. I used a toaster oven so they baked a lot quicker, you may need to add more or less time depending on the oven size.

Step 2: Prepare the Veggies

Rinse and cut your spinach, mushrooms, and red bell pepper.

Finely chop the garlic and set aside.

Step 3: Make the Pizza Sauce

Stir together the tomato paste, water, and EVOO until the texture is smooth. Then add in the finely chopped garlic, dried basil, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper, and stir together until it's evenly mixed.

Step 4: Get Bakin’!

By this time, the broccoli and cauliflower should be softened, starting to shrink, and ready to come out of the oven. Once you remove the broccoli and cauliflower, raise the oven temp to 425 F.

Place the Naan Bread on a baking sheet and with a ladle, scoop out the pizza sauce onto the pizza adding as much or as little sauce as you like. Spread the sauce around, leaving about 1/2 inch of space around the outer edge.
